Sriragnatapatana Fort

The Srirangapatana Fort was among the most formidable structure that defied the might of the invading armies. But after it was breached by the enemy forces that marked the end of the 4th Anglo-Mysore war, the capital of Mysore kingdom was shifted from Srirangapatana to present day Mysore which was no more than a petty outpost comprising a few villages. But once the seat of power shifted to Mysore, the decline of Srirangapatana comenced and was marked by the emergence of Mysore as a bustling centre. The once-mighty Fort is now in ruins and is a shutter-bug's delight.
