Colonel Bailey's Dungeon



Colonel Bailey's Dungeon... This where the prisoners of war were housed. Situated besides the railway track adjacent to the Srirangapatana railway station, the structure is maintained by the Government.

Obelisk Memorial, constructed by the Mysore Government under the British Raj in 1907 to commemorate the fall of Srirangapatana on May 4, 1799. An impressive structure it lists out the various regiments that participated in the historic battle under General Harris who commanded the British army. Located opposite the railway station overlooking the Cauvery river, it is in ruins and almost abandoned and grafitis of amourous couple risks ruining completely this splendid monument which evokes grace.
